Intensive Outpatient Program
A core component of Region 8’s alcohol and drug services treatment is its Intensive Outpatient Program. Designed for those working through alcoholism and drug abuse without the need for residential treatment, this program offers a three-phase rehabilitation process. A 10-week evidence-based course that meets 3 times a week, partnered with individual and family therapy sessions.
Phase 1: In this 10-week phase, participants gain insight into the detrimental effects of alcohol or drug abuse upon their health, career, and families through educational lectures and counseling.
Phase 2: As participants commit to a substance-free lifestyle, they learn new skills for coping with stressors. In this phase, they engage in eight weeks of a curriculum designed for relapse prevention.
Phase 3: Participants continue their journey over the course of two years of aftercare.
An added feature of the Intensive Outpatient Program is that all sessions are held at night, enabling participants to engage in educational lectures and individual, group and family treatment without interfering with jobs or other daytime obligations. Intensive Outpatient Groups are available in two distinct schedules. daytime IOP option groups are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1pm to 4pm. Evening IOP groups meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm. Additional sessions are scheduled on an individual basis.
